What Does Railing Construction Entail?

The field of railing construction encompasses all the components used to build a railing. It begins with the bar material consisting of tubes and bars, from which posts, handrails, frames, and fillers are fabricated. In addition, there are brackets and connectors such as handrail brackets, handrail supports, crossbar holders, push-fit and welded fittings, as well as fastenings to the building structure via anchor plates, weld-on brackets, wall and floor anchors, and step fasteners. Finally, tube end plugs, cover rosettes, balls, and decorative parts ensure a clean, finished appearance.

Materials and Surfaces

The railing construction product line is designed for stainless steel in the grades V2A (AISI 304) and V4A (AISI 316) (1.4301/04 or 1.4571). The visible components are delivered with a K240-grade polished surface, ensuring that tubes, brackets, and Decorative parts are visually consistent with one another. V4A is available selectively within the product line—primarily where higher material requirements apply.

Systems and Product Line Highlights

In addition to individual components, Feldmann offers coordinated systems: Cornect® Inox with Corner variants and Profiles, as well as BRENK-fix®. French balcony railings, stair construction components, and cables, chains, and accessories cater to special design solutions. For handrails, pre-assembled handrails, wooden handrails, and LED handrails (LUNORA®) are available; the sensa® series is featured for handrail brackets. Push-fit fittings and push-fit sockets also enable assembly without welding.

From bar material to finished railing

Feldmann not only supplies semi-finished products but also handles the machining: Tubes are laser-cut to lengths of up to 6,500 mm, and mandrel, ring, and spiral bending are available for round tubing with diameters of 21.3–48.3 mm and square tubing up to 50×50 mm—from single pieces to series production. As a partner to specialized contractors, architects, and planners, the shop offers over 7,000 individual components as coordinated system solutions.
