A handrail bracket connects the handrail to its mounting surface—the wall, a railing post, or a glass panel. It typically consists of two parts: the plate, which is attached to the mounting surface, and the Bracket, which holds the handrail tube. This ensures that the handrail is securely mounted, free of play, and positioned at a defined distance. As a partner to specialty contractors, architects, and designers, Feldmann offers handrail brackets for virtually every mounting situation in railing and stair construction.
The brackets differ primarily in their mounting type: for welding, for screws, for setting in concrete, with Drehfix© quick-mounting, and specifically for mounting on glass. Within the bolted and welded variants, the bracket is either permanently welded or bolted—and is therefore replaceable.
The bracket is supplied with a flat connection plate (for square handrails or custom fabrication) or with a round mounting socket (Ø 42.4 mm or Ø 33.7 mm) for round tubing. Many brackets feature a replaceable handrail mounting plate, allowing the same mounting plate and bracket to be flexibly combined with various handrail profiles. A joint ensures stepless inclination adjustment for different slopes.
Handrail brackets can be specifically selected in the store based on wall clearance—common distances are 62, 65, 68, 70, 75, 80, 82, and 85 mm (measured to the center of the handrail or to the center of the bracket). The appropriate wall clearance depends on the handrail diameter, the desired grip width, and the substrate. Height-adjustable models also cover an adjustable range and compensate for tolerances.
Handrail brackets are available made of V2A (AISI 304) stainless steel and—for selected models—in V4A (AISI 316) (1.4401) stainless steel; the surface is ground to 240 grit (K240). V2A is suitable for indoor and standard outdoor applications; V4A is recommended for environments with increased corrosion exposure, such as near swimming pools, industrial areas, or coastal regions. Additionally, special designs are available: brackets with ball rings, handrail blades, brackets for LED handrails, brackets with adjustable height, and the sensa® design series.
